This lead Aenys to send Rhaena and Aegon on a progress in order for the people of Westeros to become fond of them but this went terribly bad and Aegon and Rhaena who were forced to seek shelter in Casterly Rock were Rhaena gave birth to their twin daughters Aerea and Rhaella. The faith of course hated this decision but Aenys would not change his mind. However Aenys eventually decided that his eldest daughter Rhaena would marry her eldest brother Aegon who was the heir to the iron throne. Because of this Aenys who now was the king had to exile his own brother in order to satisfy the faith. Around a decade later however Maegor had not produced a single child with Ceryse which lead him to take a second wife in the lady Alys Harroway which outraged the faith. The reason the high septon rejected this marriage is because of the incest which the faith of the seven the main religion of Westeros heavily disapproves of. However the high septon who is essentially the pope for those who don't know protested against this marriage which lead the high septon to suggest his niece the lady Ceryse Hightower as a suitable marriage candidate for prince Maegor which Aegon accepted. The birth of Rhaena lead Visenya to suggest that Rhaena marry Maegor in order to settle the question of succession whether Maegor or Rhaena were second in line to the iron throne.
When these sons eventually reached a suitable age to marry Aenys married his cousin Alyssa Velaryon who within a year from their wedding gave him a daughter named Rhaena after Rhaenys who had been killed in a war when Aenys was only three. These sisters eventually gave their brother one son each the elder of the boys was Aenys the son of Rhaenys and the son of Visenya was Maegor. However Aegon the conqueror is also notable for taking both of his sisters Visenya and Rhaenys to wife which was unusual even for the valyrians who usually only married one sister or relative in order to keep the bloodline pure which enabled them to ride dragons. As most of you probably know or will be able to guess it was Aegon the conqueror who conquered and made the seven kingdoms of Westeros into one. However to fully explain the political situation in Westeros we have to go back almost four decades before our start to the time of Aegon's Conquest.
